Brick Campaign
Exceeds Goal
The Marian High School Athletic Department sponsored a
Brick Campaign to raise funds for the Bishop Crowley
Activity Center. A $50 donation entitled the donor a 4 inch by 8 inch
brick
engraved
with his or her name, year of graduation, and selected sports or
activities. The bricks will be displayed in the Hall of Fame, located in
the multi-purpose area of the new Center. This Hall will be a place to
honor our athletes and our coaches of distinction.
The Brick Campaign goal was set at $10,000. To raise this amount of profit, approximately 264 bricks had to be sold.
On October 31, 2000, the Brick Campaign came to a close. The total number of bricks sold in the campaign was 343. The profit is over $13,000! This amount is now on the books as a designated gift for the Bishop Crowley Activity Center.
Due to the campaign's success, an additional purchase has been made. A limestone cornerstone was placed in the south outside wall of the facility. It reads:
Bishop Crowley
Activity Center
Est. 2001
A special thank you to all the alumni who
supported the students in the Brick Campaign. Your generosity has made a
difference! We hope that you are planning a visit to Marian (if you
haven't already) to find your brick.
