The Marian family welcomed the Class of 2022 at Freshman Orientation on Monday, August 13. The festivities were designed and carried out by the three Student Council officers: LaLa Petty, John Brach, and Jeff Murphy. They included a welcome and an overview of the upcoming year with an emphasis on the school-wide theme of "Different Gifts. Same Spirit. One Body."
On Tuesday, August 14 the freshmen experienced opening their lockers and their first full day of classes. On Wednesday, August 15 they went to all of their classes, as well as an all school Mass. During their Math classes they divided into small groups and went on a scavenger hunt to locate important people and places throughout the building. They heard about organizational and study skills from the teachers in the Learning Strategies department on Thursday, August 16. They also learned about the value of getting involved and enjoyed an ice cream treat on Friday, August 17. On Monday, August 20 they were introduced to their Google accounts. The Theology teachers spoke to the freshman classes about what it means to be a Knight and the School Counseling Department spoke about how to make good decisions and deal with conflict on Tuesday, August 21. On Thursday, August 23 the students attended a panel presentation on social media. The freshman orientation wrapped up with the Freshman Retreat led by the Campus Ministry Department on Friday, August 24. The Class of 2022 is ready to learn, serve, and lead!
