    Marian High School offers a strong program oriented toward college preparation in English, science, history, and mathematics.  Marian students consistently score above state and national averages on the SAT (See Marian's Snapshot on the Indiana Department of Education's web site.)  Marian offers a variety of educational and athletic activities which gives students the opportunity to explore their interests, broaden cultural and social awareness, and build friendships that last a lifetime.  The Marian tradition of Catholic teachers and Christian values provides a safe, disciplined atmosphere that helps students achieve their academic potential.

*Marian was named one of the Top 50 High Schools in the Nation by the Catholic Honor Roll in 2004 and 2005 based on Catholic Identity, Academic Excellence, and Civic Education.

*Marian’s 818 students come from a wide area in Michiana and from a variety of elementary and junior high schools both private and public.

*Bus transportation is available for a nominal fee. Marian has three bus routes--one going east to Elkhart, one north to Granger, and one south toward Plymouth.  

*Financial aid is available based on need.  Approximately 20% of the students currently enrolled receive financial assistance.

*The Student to Teacher Ratio in the classrooms is 21 to 1.  Teachers are willing to provide help before school and after school as needed.  National Honor Society members also provide a tutoring service to students who are interested.  

*Approximately one-half of the faculty holds Masters’ degrees or higher and/or possesses ten or more years of teaching experience.

*Numerous cocurricular activities support the strong college-prep curriculum.  Students can choose to participate in 30 different clubs and organizations.  Extra-curricular activities include 20 varsity sports as well as the cheer squad, poms, hockey, and rugby. 

*Service opportunities are an important part of the total education at Marian. Students can participate in volunteer service through Apostolic Works class, the Campus Ministry office, clubs and organizations such as Junior Civitan and STARS as well as Senior Service Projects. 

*Approximately 95% of Marian graduates go on to higher education.

*S.A.T. Scores are consistently among the best in the area and are consistently above both state and national averages.

*The ISTEP scores place Marian’s sophomores near the top of all schools in the state since ISTEP’s inception.
