A Dual Credit course is a college course, incorporating the same syllabi, class assignments, and examinations while utilizing comparable textbooks. Students taking dual credit classes meet the same academic readiness standards as students taking the course in college. High school faculty members teaching a course for dual credit meet the credentialing requirements of the dual credit institution and the licensing requirements of the Indiana Department of Education.
Many dual credit courses at Marian are considered honors courses, and students who accept the challenge of taking these courses at Marian have the potential to earn additional grade point average points. Upon graduation, these credits can be transferred to other state colleges and universities. More information on course transfers can be found at http://www.transferin.net/.
