Back to School

The events of the last several months surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic have posed tremendous challenges for Marian High School, our students, our families, and our community. In preparation for our return to school this August, we have developed and revised a plan that reflects the reality of daily family life, takes into account many lessons learned over the past several months, and recognizes the ongoing need to foster the “spiritual and moral growth, academic and physical excellence, and social maturity” of our students (Marian High School Mission Statement).  Marian High School’s return to school plan acknowledges several important beliefs, some of which were outlined in a recent communication from the Catholic Schools Office regarding the reopening of schools:

  1. As a Catholic school community, we acknowledge that parents are the primary educators of their children. We believe that parents ultimately have the responsibility to decide what is best for their children;
  2. Marian High School provides a unique opportunity for our students to encounter the person of Jesus Christ through their relationship with others and through the Sacraments;
  3. Marian High School is most effective at achieving its Mission Statement when students are participating in person;
  4. The Marian High School Family is a small community, able to remain flexible and responsive to the needs of our members.

The entire Return to School Plan can be found here. Please understand that every effort will be made to keep our students, staff, and their families safe as we return to school. The plan may also be adjusted at any point due to community factors related to COVID-19.

  1. Como comunidad escolar católica, reconocemos que los padres son los principales educadores de sus hijos. Creemos que los padres tienen la responsabilidad de decidir qué es lo mejor para sus hijos;
  2. La Escuela Secundaria Marian ofrece una oportunidad única para que nuestros estudiantes se encuentren con la persona de Jesucristo a través de su relación con los demás y a través de los sacramentos;
  3. La Escuela Secundaria Marian es más efectiva para lograr su Declaración de Misión cuando los estudiantes participan en persona;
Mary Mother of GodO Mary, you always shine on our path as a sign of salvation and of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who at the cross took part in Jesus' pain, keeping your faith firm. You, Salvation of the Roman People, know what we need, and we are sure you will provide so that, as in Cana of Galilee, we may return to joy and to feasting after this time of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who has taken upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows to lead us, through the cross, to the joy of the resurrection. Amen.

St. Rocco, protector against the plague and all contagious diseases, pray for us.
