St. Thomas school is in need of some student help with the ICCL events they will be hosting for volleyball and boys basketball games. Students will be able to get service hours OR get paid per game. If you need service hours you are asked to stay for the whole day, not just game by game. Spots are on a first come, first serve basis. Congratulations to many of our fall teams this weekend. The girls soccer team will be heading to Indy to play for the state title on Saturday, volleyball will be heading to Huntington for the semi state games, and the football team will be playing in the next round of sectionals here at Marian on Friday night @7:30pm.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on Saturday. Also, a big thank you to all who donated to the dress down day, bought bracelets or glow sticks or otherwise assisted in fundraising.
The Marian Community under the Science Research Team donated $11, 026 for cancer research this year.

This Saturday, 10/25, is the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. All students and members of the Marian family are invited to join us in the Walk. We will gather at Howard Park in downtown South Bend at 8 a.m. The Walk is a 3-mile route from Howard Park to Veterans Memorial Park and then back to Howard. You should be done between 10:30 and 11. We ask that all participating Marian family members wear Marian gear. Marian teams can participate and wear team jerseys or uniforms. We want to demonstrate the Serve and Lead aspects of our school motto. Last year, about one-third of the walkers were part of the Marian family. We have raised $10,000 for Cancer Research this year! Please consider joining us this Saturday to support this important cause. #Marian Knights Strong!

Congratulations to both the Boys and Girls Soccer team as they will both play for a Sectional Championship on Saturday. The Boys have dominated the first two games of Sectional on their way to the title, while the girls won an instant classic in Penalty Kicks over Saint Joe last night to advance.
The Boys will play Adams at Marian at 2:00 and the Girls will play Jimtown at 6:00 at St. Pat's Park.

Volleyball traveled to Crown Point this past weekend and finished 2-2. Leading the way for the Knights Elle Boser wit 39 Kills, 5 blocks and 28 digs. Knights Volleyball Sweeps the Jimmies! It was a great night for Knights Volleyball as all three teams; freshmen, JV and Varsity brought home the wins against the Jimmies!
Fresh win in two sets JV came out strong with a victory in 3 sets, and Varsity battled hard to take the win in 5!

Seniors who need to retake the SAT before submitting college applications should sign up for SAT School Day at Marian on Friday, October 24. Sophomores and Juniors will take the PSAT this day, and Seniors may take the SAT by request. The test will run from approximately 8:00 - 11:00 AM. The cost is $60 which is less than a Saturday SAT. Please check for an email from Mr. Donndelinger for a copy of the form, or you may ask for one from Mrs. Hundt in the Counseling office. We are requesting that all forms and money be submitted by Monday, September 22.
NHS Tutoring will resume the week of September 15. Tutoring will be available after school in the Library, Monday through Thursday, on days school is in session. (Wednesday tutoring will meet in Room 241 with Dr. Bishop.) Students who have low grades, who need help with homework, or who struggle taking tests are all encouraged to take advantage of tutoring. NHS students, we need you to help out as well. Even if your assistance is not requested on a particular day, you will have the time to read or study while earning NHS service hours. All students who attend need to sign in with the supervising teacher so they can be logged and get credit for their time. Please speak to Mr. Donndelinger or Mrs. Rutherford if you have any questions.
